• search_articles

  Search Open Factory articles by topic, equipment class, company, tag or series ID. Returns the best matches with URL, date, pillar, summary and the CSV files behind their charts. Use get_article for the text.

• get_article

  Full metadata and the free text (markdown) of one Open Factory article by slug, with its cited sources and CSV files. Articles with a paywall return the text up to the paywall and say so.

• get_index_readings

  The current public headline number of every Open Factory model (lead time, build cost per MW, book-to-bill, OEM disclosure, energization year), each with its source document and date.

• get_lead_times

  Current published lead time, in weeks, for factory and datacenter electrical equipment classes (transformers, switchgear, switchboards, MCC, busway, gensets, ATS, drives), each with the OEM or publisher and its date. Optional text filter on the class name. Edition history and per-product OEM rows are paid.

• get_price_bands

  Transaction price bands from public procurement awards: pad-mount and power transformers ($/kVA), MV switchgear, gensets ($/kW) and chillers ($/ton), with p25, median, p75, n, buyers and award-date range. Filter by class and window (recent = awards since 2024-01-01). Award rows with document URLs are paid.

• get_tariff_rates

  US import tariff for factory and datacenter equipment: 22 HTS lines (transformers, switchgear, gensets, chillers, machine tools, robots and parts) by origin country, with MFN, Section 232, Section 301 and total ad valorem rates and the instrument behind each. Filter by HTS prefix, origin or a word in the description.

• get_large_load_terms

  What a 50 MW or larger load pays to connect in fifteen US utilities and markets: study fee, security or collateral per MW, minimum bill, contract term, ramp, exit fee and realistic energization year, each cell linked to the tariff or docket. Optional filter by market, utility or state.

• get_book_to_bill

  Latest quarter orders, revenue, backlog, book-to-bill and backlog growth for the electrical, power and cooling OEMs (Eaton, GE Vernova, Siemens Energy, ABB, Schneider, Vertiv, Powell, Caterpillar, Cummins, Trane and others), from filings and releases. Quarterly history is paid.

• get_disclosure_scorecard

  Whether each equipment OEM publishes a dated lead-time schedule, list prices, backlog in dollars, capacity in units and delivery performance, scored yes, partial or no with the document behind every cell. Optional filter by OEM; set cells=true for the evidence rows.

• get_record

  Every dated, checkable forecast Open Factory has made (lead times, prices, tariffs, power), the public series it is scored against, the date it resolves, and the result once scored. Filter by status.

• list_datasets

  The CSV files behind every chart Open Factory publishes, grouped by article, with direct download URLs. Each file keeps a source column naming the filing, tariff, docket, award or series the row came from. Optional filter by article slug or topic word.

• get_tool_data

  The source table one Open Factory calculator runs on, with every input's provenance: copper-wire-price-sheet, genset-tco, interconnection-cost, lead-time-schedule, pjm-capacity-bill, quote-check, tariff-exposure-calculator, transformer-sizing-cost. The calculation itself runs in the browser at the tool URL in this version.
